Major Impact
116 new build apartments set around a sensational glazed internal street.

Original Impact
Up to 46 New York style loft conversions within the original Type Foundry.

Minor Impact
50 mixed tenure apartments for rental.

Impact Square
A new terraced public square with distinctive cafes and shops and unique underground car parking.

Major Impact
116 new build apartments set around a sensational glazed atrium space.

The architecture promises to be dramatic and stimulating, creating a future Sheffield property icon. High construction budgets have ensured that the designers have had a free hand to create a future landmark. At Impact the quality of design, materials and construction will be paramount.

The Architect was inspired to introduce penetrating sunlight into the heart of the building and the two distinct sections are  formed with apartments rising either side of an 8-storey high internal street that is glazed to the roof and front.

The elevated street looks out over the new square with the apartments accessed via a series of feature lifts and bridges spanning the dramatic void.

An underground residents-only car park will serve both Major Impact and Original Impact.

Location
Impact is around 5 minutes walk from Devonshire Green, the retail district of the city centre and the University of Sheffield.

The site is bounded by Upper Allen Street / Edward Street / Brocco Street / Kenyon Alley.

Transport links are superb with a tram stop almost adjacent to the site and the ring road brings the Parkway and M1 only minutes away.

Original Impact
Up to 46 New York style loft conversions within the original Stephenson Blake Type Foundry which has been based on the site for nearly 200 years.

The sensitive conversion has been designed to make minimal intrusion on the historic fabric, and newly formed stair and lift pods sit outside the original building.

These premium apartments will be fitted with the latest in technology whilst retaining the character of the fully refurbished buildings.

Why is the development called Impact?
The Impact typeface is one of the many hundreds in the Stephenson Blake portfolio produced at the site. The title logo for the scheme has been created using the Impact typeface. It is also a standard font on virtually every PC in the world - check your word processor fonts now. If you have accidentally removed Impact from your system you can download it here for reinstallation.

Impact Square
Impact will transform the district and Impact Square will be the beating heart of it.

Created from an existing run down open space the proposals are for a series of landscaped terraces that form an urban sculpture park creating a mature environment for living, and socialising within the heart of the city.

An underground public multi-storey car park will provide secure parking for visitors and workers, and planned improvements to the street scene will see road closures and the cobbles restored.
